Lower ISO Rating may mean lower Insurance

Great news for property owners on Palomar.  A lower ISO rating could mean lower rates for your homeowners insurance.  The article has the details, then you might want to call your insurance company.  There is a possibility your rates might go down.  Please keep me posted!  Thanks to all.

  1. i chatted with a Farmers Insurance rep at the last County Fire Safe Council meeting on this very subject. She remarked that the ISO rating has to do more with the fire department (proximity/staffing, etc) than individual property as insurance companies can put “red flag” notes on estimates, e.g., difficult access, heavy fuel load next door, shake roof, etc. which could raise the rate.

    • Thank you Cecelia. Makes sense. We’ll all have a lot of ‘spring cleaning’ to do.
